Designing the Perfect Sanctuary
The Science of Sleep and Design
At Shiv Interior & Developers, we believe a bedroom is a wellness space. In the bustling cities of Gujarat, your bedroom should be the one place where noise and stress fade away. Our design philosophy centers on creating a sensory experience that promotes deep, restorative sleep.
Layout & Flow
The placement of furniture is critical. We follow Vaastu Shastra principles—positioning the bed in the South or West for stability—while ensuring modern functionality.
- Clear Pathways: Ensuring there is at least 2-3 feet of walking space around the bed.
- Symmetry: Matching bedside tables and lamps create visual balance, calming the mind.
- The View: Orienting the bed to overlook a window (with blackout curtains) or a piece of art, rather than the bathroom door.
Lighting: The Fourth Dimension
lighting is the unsung hero of bedroom ambiance. We employ a layered lighting approach:
- Ambient: Soft, warm cove lighting in the false ceiling for general illumination without glare.
- Task: Adjustable reading lights on the headboard or bedside lamps for nighttime reading without disturbing your partner.
- Accent: LED strips under the bed (floating effect) or highlighting textured wall panels.
Material Palette: Touch and Feel
We recommend tactile materials that add warmth.
- Headboards: Tufted velvet or leather headboards provide back support and acoustic dampening.
- Flooring: Wooden flooring (laminated or engineered) is preferred over cold tiles as it is warmer to step onto in the morning.
- Walls: Muted pastels, sage greens, or warm beiges. We often use fabric-finish wallpapers or wooden fluting to add depth.
Storage Solutions
A cluttered room leads to a cluttered mind. We integrate:
- Hydraulic Beds: Easy-lift storage for heavy winter quilts and guest bedding.
- Floor-to-Ceiling Wardrobes: utilizing the loft space for suitcases.
- Dresser Units: Concealed storage behind mirrors for cosmetics and perfumes.
